The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center (JMBCC) recently acquired a state-of-the-art bone densitometry system from Hologic, which provides superb image quality with advanced diagnostic tools to support early detection and treatment of osteoporosis. This non-invasive imaging service is now available to women and men at the JMBCC.
According to the World Health Organization, about 90 percent of women over the age of 65 do not have normal bone mass, and 77 percent of American women with osteoporosis are undiagnosed, and therefore untreated.
