Peles Salon & Day Spa teamed up with Our Mother of Sorrows, Ferndale School District, Forest Hills School District and student organizations at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown to provide pink hair extensions in honor of breast cancer awareness month. The annual fundraiser sold the extensions for $10 each and raised a total $5,315 for patient services at the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center. Megan Kostan, a Forest Hills High School Junior, coordinated the pink hair extensions at Forest Hills as part of her senior project. Approximately 320 students participated and over $3,200 was raised at Forest Hills alone.
