The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center (JMBCC) at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber is proud to offer Low Dose Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams from Hologic, a global leader in breast cancer detection, beginning on May 15.
In a conventional mammogram, overlapping tissue can hide breast cancers and normal breast tissue may appear abnormal, leading to unnecessary callbacks. Low Dose Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams are an advanced type of digital mammogram that offer better cancer detection, fewer call backs, minimal compression time and greater peace of mind at a dose comparable to a conventional digital mammogram.*
Large clinical studies in the U.S. and Europe* have demonstrated the positive benefits of Low Dose 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams including:

Low Dose Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams are recommended for women of all ages and breast densities.
The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center is committed to the fight against breast cancer. In offering the Genius low dose exam, the JMBCC provides the latest and most effective imaging tool for breast cancer screening.
Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center Manager Erin Goins said, “We are excited to offer this leading edge technology for breast cancer screening. Our center continues to be dedicated to providing superior care to our patients.”

About Low Dose Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY Exams
Breast tissue and structures in the breast can overlap and cause confusion when viewed with a conventional mammogram. Low Dose Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams enable doctors to more clearly see through overlapping tissue to detect cancers, often at an earlier stage. Low Dose Genius 3D MAMMOGRAPHY exams are only available on the Hologic Selenia Dimensions breast tomosynthesis system.
