Students in the Greater Johnstown Career & Technology Center’s (GJCTC) cosmetology programs raised $1200 in October to support local research and programs at the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center.
Students in both the high school and adult education programs, assisted by instructors and staff, sold pink hair extensions, pink hair spray, face painting, and support the cause stickers. The items were sold within the GJCTC building and to students in neighboring school districts.
All proceeds from the fundraiser were donated to the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center at a check presentation on November 6.
Their generous support helps fund Pink Ribbon Care, a program that provides assistance for patients who are unable to pay for breast-related health services – including mammograms, follow-up diagnostic services, and genetic counseling.
