Patients and visitors of Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber and the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center can enjoy some added beauty thanks to Girl Scout Cadette Troop 40976 and Senior Troop 40921.
The Girl Scouts completed a community service project by planting a variety of colorful flowers and plants, donated by the Polacek family, throughout the hospital campus and Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center.
During their visit they received a tour of the herb gardens with a presentation on the different herb types, their properties and how they can be used for patient care from Rachel Allen of Windber Medical Center’s Institute of Integrative Medicine.
The troop leader is Michelle Polacek.
