Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber (CSSMCW) is pleased to announce the promotion of David Csikos, MD from Vice President of Medical Affairs to Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Csikos will oversee clinical services and become the clinical point of contact for the CSSMCW team, medical staff, and independent physicians in the community.

This expands his prior leadership role of Vice President of Medical Affairs, where he was responsible for providing medical oversite, expertise, and leadership to the medical staff to ensure the delivery of quality, affordable care.

CSSMCW CEO Tom Kurtz said, “Dr. Csikos is a trusted, experienced, and valued physician with excellent business insight. As CMO, he will help us increase our receptiveness to clinicians in the area, allowing us to continue providing the same high level of care and services our patients have come to expect.”

Dr. Csikos brings years of experience serving on various committees and boards in the Healthcare Industry, as well as over 39 years of experience in the practice of medicine. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Csikos has been a long-standing supporter of the community of Windber as well as CSSMCW.

Dr. Csikos is currently serving as Trustee on the Board of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and he is also the President of the Cambria County Medical Society for 2019. Dr. Csikos was elected to Fellowship in the American College of Physicians, and he is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

“I have dedicated my professional career to Windber Hospital and the Medical Group of Windber, providing a lifetime of medical services. My prime directive as CMO is to continue to provide quality, affordable care to the residents of the community. I think it is important we are here to provide patients with a choice in their care options. I also look forward to continue meeting the evolving healthcare challenges of today’s world,” said CSSMCW CMO Dr. David Csikos.
