About The Windber Health Care Foundation

Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber is a medical center of choice, advancing well-being by combining health care services in tradition with state-of-the-art technology to help patients achieve and maintain wellness. In tradition, the environment itself is “healing” in nature, soothing to the senses, and envelops our patients in holistic nurturing that is so vital to caring for the entire person: body, mind, and spirit.

In support of this mission, The Windber Health Care Foundation plays a vital role in the Medical Center’s day-to-day existence and future developments—building financial support to acquire necessary state-of-the-art equipment and innovation in health care. Our Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was created to solicit, record and recognize charitable gifts, grants, and bequests to help fund programs and projects of Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber. The past twenty years have brought amazing changes:

• Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber a modest, rural hospital has grown into the foundation of the local economy and a nationally-recognized center of health care advancement and innovation.
• Our neighbors have benefited from the comfort and care of Windber Hospice, the nation’s first rural hospice program.
• Innovative scientific and holistic programs are leading the national fight against breast cancer at the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center.

Your Support
