You’ll be able to discover various career opportunities in the healthcare industry, gain insights into daily responsibilities, and explore the educational requirements needed to pursue a career path.
Departments available for job shadowing:
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab is where specialized procedures, such as angiograms and stent placements, are performed to diagnose and treat heart conditions. This fast-paced department uses advanced technology to support cardiovascular health.
- Centralized Scheduling
Centralized Scheduling is the hub for coordinating patient appointments and ensuring smooth workflows. This team handles communication between patients and providers to optimize scheduling efficiency.
- Hospice
Hospice provides compassionate, end-of-life care focused on comfort and dignity. The team supports patients and their families with medical, emotional, and spiritual care during this important stage of life.
- Information Technology (IT)
The IT department ensures the hospital’s technology systems run smoothly, supporting patient care through electronic health records, secure networks, and technical troubleshooting.
- Laboratory
The Laboratory plays a vital role in diagnosing and treating illnesses by analyzing blood, tissue, and other samples. Lab professionals use cutting-edge equipment to deliver accurate results.
- Medical Records
The Medical Records department manages patient health information, ensuring it is securely stored, accurate, and accessible for healthcare providers while adhering to privacy regulations.
- Nursing
Nursing is the backbone of patient care, with nurses providing hands-on medical treatment, emotional support, and education to patients and their families across many areas of the hospital.
- Occupational Therapy (OT)
Occupational Therapy helps patients regain independence in daily activities, focusing on skills needed for work, school, and home life. Therapists use creative strategies to promote recovery.
- Pharmacy
The Pharmacy team ensures patients receive the right medications, managing everything from prescription dispensing to medication education and safety monitoring.
- Physical Therapy (PT)
Physical Therapy helps patients recover mobility, strength, and function after injury, illness, or surgery. Therapists work one-on-one to develop customized rehabilitation plans.
- Radiology
The Radiology department provides diagnostic imaging services, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, and fluoroscopy. These imaging techniques help diagnose and guide treatment for a wide range of conditions.
- Research at CSSIMMW
The research institute is dedicated to innovative biomedical research, combining genomics, bioinformatics, and clinical data to advance precision medicine and improve patient outcomes.
