Windber Home Health Earns SHPBest Patient Satisfaction Award for Fourth Year

Windber Medical center

Windber Home Health has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a “Premier Performer” for achieving an overall patient satisfaction score that ranked in the top 5% of all eligible SHP clients for the 2023 calendar year.

The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge home health agencies that consistently provide high quality service to their patients. The 2023 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall satisfaction score for more than 3,200 home health providers. With the largest HHCAHPS benchmark in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made patient satisfaction a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the HHCAHPS survey.

“SHP is proud to partner with so many organizations that put a high value on providing quality patient care and we are honored to recognize the hard work and dedication of our top-performing customers with the annual SHPBest awards. These organizations deserve to be celebrated for their commitment to achieving new levels of excellence each and every year,” said Kevin Vogel, President of SHP.

The Windber Home Health staff is very proud to achieve this honor for the fourth time. They were previously recognized as a ‘Premier Performer’ in 2019, 2021, and 2022. (Data for year 2020 was omitted due to COVID-19.) These awards are based solely on patient and family/caregiver input, which is a true measure of the care that home health and hospice nurses provide. Windber Home Health strives to care for patients in a manner that goes above and beyond expectations.

Director of Home Health Sara Bahorik, RN said, “It’s inspiring to see the dedication of the Windber Home Health staff recognized by our patients, especially during such challenging times in the healthcare sector. This acknowledgment not only reflects the hard work and commitment to prioritizing patient care but also reinforces our ongoing mission to enhance community health. Keep up the fantastic work in making a positive impact!”
