Windber GYN Associates Welcomes Two CRNPs

Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber (CSSMCW) is pleased to welcome Karen Menser, CRNP and Kathryn Parkins, CRNP to Windber GYN Associates. The new practitioners, who began seeing patients this month, join Greg Whorral, MD, FACOG and Rebecca Kebberly, CRNP.

Karen Menser, CRNP said, “I want to be the one that patients look forward to seeing and are able to find comfort in knowing that they will have the best care possible. I believe that it means the world to patients to see a provider they trust, one that helps to explain various health related concerns and one that takes the time to listen to them and that is the type of provider I am.”

Menser is a board certified family nurse practitioner with more than 10 years of experience in women’s health. She graduated from Carlow University with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as well as her Masters as a family nurse practitioner.

Most recently, Menser worked in an OB/GYN setting in both Somerset and Cambria counties. Although she enjoys every aspect of women’s health, she has specific interest in menopause, infertility, and adolescent health.

Kathryn Parkins, CRNP said, “I am passionate about the health of the women in my community and helping them in the many aspects of their lives. Women’s health and gynecology is often an area that women feel uncomfortable discussing. I want to create an environment for women to get the help and guidance they need.”

Parkins is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly 9 years of experience in the field. She graduated from the University of South Alabama’s Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program and is currently working towards a doctorate degree.

Most recently, Parkins worked in the women’s health field in the Johnstown and surrounding areas. She focuses on adolescent care, fertility, contraception counseling, conditions related to menopause and general gynecologic health care management, and disease prevention.
