This position is responsible for reviewing and monitoring patient care and use of hospital resources to ensure the patient receives high quality, cost effective care. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with various insurance agencies and reporting to them pertinent patient information to obtain certification for services. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (in a healthcare related field) such as Cardiovascular Tech, Radiologic Tech, or Certified Surgical Tech, required. Registered Radiologic Tech RT(R) or Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) certification must be obtained within two years if a RT or CVT. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is preferred. BLS and ACLS certification required. 2 years radiology experience for RT / CVT required or 1-2 years Cath Lab and/or Interventional radiology experience preferred. CST must have 3-4 years of Cath Lab experience within the last 3 years of hire. Must be fluent in medical terminology; Ability to use radiographic equipment and handle patients who present in a variety of conditions. On Call required.
