Bariatric Program Director at the Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber Taesun Moon, DO, FACOS, FASMBS has obtained his Fellowship through the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS). Only board certified members that have demonstrated consistent quality in the practice of surgery and commitment to advancing the osteopathic surgical profession while strictly adhering to professional and ethical standards are eligible to receive the Fellow designation.
Surgeons voluntarily submit applications for Fellowship. In so doing, they are inviting an evaluation of their practice by their peers. Conferral is dependent on the accomplishment of additional professional activities and recommendations that often take several years to acquire.
The ACOS is committed to promoting excellence in osteopathic surgical care through education, advocacy, leadership development, and the fostering of professional and personal relationships.
Dr. Moon became the hospital’s Bariatric Program Director in 2015. He is also a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
